In order to drive a snowmobile in Sweden you must be 16 years and has a license for off-road scooter. Snowmobiles may also be driven by the person who has a Swedish driving license or tractor license issued before 2000-01-01. You can also run without a license if you are part of a group in the tourism industry with more than ten people who have a license or tractor cards, and headed by a person with a license for snowmobiles along a distance determined by the leader before the trip. As a foreign driver (in EES*), you are entitled to drive a snowmobile in Sweden if you have right in your home country. If you can not show it or you are from a country outside the EES*, the only way to be part of a group in the tourism industry (see EVENTS) or that you have a Swedish license.
* EES countries are EU member states, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
